The Daily Drip, 2 July 2026: Away kits steal the show as the Knicks cool off

## The board today

The World Cup still owns the top of the index, but the story on 2 July is about the away kits. Argentina's home shirt (92.2) holds the summit ahead of Brazil (91.4) and the Stella McCartney x Jeff Koons capsule (91.2), yet the sharpest moves came further down the table.

## Biggest movers

Japan's away kit was the day's standout riser, jumping the full 15 points to 78 and into SURGING territory. The rainbow pinstripe design sold out within minutes of restock, one of the most documented sell-outs of the tournament, and the signals have finally caught up. Spain's away kit followed it to 77.2 as its own sell-out gathered pace.

At the other end, the New York Knicks City Edition jersey, an unlikely chart-topper through late June, dropped the maximum 15 points to 79.8. With the NBA firmly in its offseason, the cultural oxygen has moved back to football, and the Celtics City Edition cooled with it, sliding to 54. Several marquee World Cup home kits (England, Germany and Curacao among them) also eased off their peaks as the group stage settles into routine and the novelty fades.

## New entries

Two sneakers join the board today. The Air Jordan 3 True Blue (77.5, SURGING) arrives ahead of its 18 July retro, its first return since 2016 and one of the most anticipated drops of the summer. Alongside it, the Nike Air Force 1 Low '01 (64, RISING) rides the revival of the sleeker 2001 silhouette that purists have wanted back for years.

## The wider picture

Under the hood, the index leaned harder into real Reddit buzz and resale demand today, which pulled a compressed top tier back to earth. Only six products now sit in ON_FIRE, a more honest reflection that most of the board is not white hot. The middle holds firm, with STEADY the largest band, while a long COOLING tail is a reminder that a moment in the sun does not last. Tomorrow the away kits will have to prove they can hold their new ground.
