The Daily Drip, 4 July 2026: knockout survivors climb as the eliminated cool
The knockout rounds are doing exactly what a World Cup does to DRIPDAQ: sorting the board by who is still playing. With the Round of 16 kicking off today, the leaderboard has never looked more like a bracket.
Argentina's home kit holds the number one spot at 91.4, still ON_FIRE, with Brazil close behind across both its Nike home shirt and the Jordan Brand change kit, all three sitting in the nineties. Spain, Mexico, the USA and France fill out the top of the SURGING tier. The two host nations are the story underneath them: Canada and Belgium both jumped the full fifteen point daily ceiling as buyers pile into shirts for teams that are, against a few expectations, still alive.
The other side of the ledger is brutal. Every one of today's biggest fallers is an eliminated nation. Uruguay, Japan, South Korea, Austria, Senegal and Ecuador all shed between thirteen and seventeen points as their knockout runs ended and the search and resale heat drained away overnight. The loudest exits belong to Germany and the Netherlands, both knocked out on penalties in the Round of 32. Germany's shirts are cooling fast from a very high base, and the Netherlands home kit has dropped out of the RISING tier entirely into STEADY. Prestige does not hold a score up on its own. A shirt needs a team on the pitch.
Away from the football, the collab lane is holding firm. Travis Scott's Jordan Pink Pack, Nigo's Air Force 1 Last Orgy 2 and the Nike x Jacquemus France pre-match shirt all keep their place in SURGING, and Pop Mart's Labubu refuses to cool. There is one new entry today: the Bad Bunny x Adidas F50 "Spiderweb", debuting at 77. A football boot upper on a running sole, arriving mid-tournament, is about as on the nose as the culture gets right now.
The shape of the board is honest: a handful of genuine peaks, a broad and unremarkable middle, and a growing pile of names nobody is talking about. Six more knockout matches over the next three days will keep reshuffling the top. Back tomorrow.
